The ministry: “Radio Liberty, Voice of America and BBC should receive permission for airing at the short waves”

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva–APA. “Radio Liberty, Voice of America and BBC should request the National TV and Radio Broadcasting Council (NTRBC) to receive permission for airing at the short waves”, Aflatun Sharifov, Director General of the Broadcasting and Satellite Production Association of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies, told APA. Sharifov said after that NTRBC would permit them, the State Radiofrequency Office would provide those radio stations with concrete waves.
The director general said no foreign radios received short waves yet. “These radios are airing at the shot waves in the territory of other countries. We are only to have the technical equipments for airing in Azerbaijan”.
Sharifov said all three radio stations should request NTRBC soon.
The State Radiofrequency Office told APA they received information from NTRBC about ban of airing of above-mentioned radio stations in middle and FM waves, but they didn’t any document from the Council about the short waves.
NTRBC member Gafar Jabiyev told APA there were no discussions at the Council about airing of foreign radios at the short waves.
