A group of Azerbaijani women parliamentarians to adopt document protesting against television programs contradicting national and moral values

A group of Azerbaijani women parliamentarians are going to adopt a document protesting against the television programs contradicting national and moral values, MP Malahat Ibrahimgizi told APA. She said that a group of women parliamentarians would hold a press conference and protest against such programs.

The parliamentarian said that with exception of “Azerbaijan Television and Radio Programs” CSC, most of TV channels broadcast amoral show programs. Ibrahimgizi accused the TV channels of broadcasting such programs in stead of patriotic programs.
“People’s artists Flora Karimova and Faig Agayev say amoral expressions to each other before the public. We protest against it and demand to prevent broadcasting of such kind of TV programs,” she said.

MP Gultakin Hajibayli stated that TV channels play negative roles in forming of taste of people. MP added that current situation caused to degradation of national values.
“Several Televisions linked it with business interests. Television should not be identified with hypermarkets. Young generation watching such kind of programs can not be treated basing on national morality and Islamic values. TV Channels should not forget that they played an important role I n forming of national ideology,” she added.
MPs protested TV Channels for broadcasting programs, which are against national values during yesterday’s sitting of the Parliament.
