TV license extension process in Azerbaijan to begin in June-July

NTRBC chief Nushiravan Maharramli told APA that there was no problem with radio equipments: â€œThe new radio will go on air prematurelyâ€.

NTRBC chief said that there are no expectations of the tender on new television and radio in Azerbaijan: â€œThe number of televisions in Azerbaijan is enough. The new â€œCultureâ€ channel will be on air from February 14. I think that the television channels must be established if there is a necessity. This is a continuous process. It is impossible to solve the problem opening new channel and increasing their number every year. It means that the quantity does not solve the problem. The main issue is that the current TV channels must work with the requirements of the period. Unfortunately we donâ€™t observe it in the private channels.â€

According to Maharramli, the extension of licenses of more TV channels is on agenda this year: â€œThis process will begin approximately from June-July. Thatâ€™s why I think that we have much work this yearâ€.
