Hepatitis C virus has been found in 3 journalists during checkups conducted at “Ankara Medical Center”

Baku. Shahriyar Alizadeh - APA. President of Association of Journalist Women Sevil Yusifova has today held a press conference, APA reports. It has been organized on the initiative of Association of Journalist Women. The conference has been devoted to the results of free medical examination organized at “Ankara Medical Center” for journalists of the country. Delivering keynote speech at the vent Sevil Yusifova said that gastro-intestinal diseases were found in most of the journalists: “Nearly 400 journalists participated in the action. Gastro-intestinal diseases were found in 70% of the applied people. And it shows that such action is needed”.

Making speech at the event Chief Doctor of Ankara Medical Center Zulfugar Yusifov noted that the action lasted 40 days: “372 people addressed to us. There are a lot of people suffering from gastro-intestinal and eye diseases. Moreover, journalists must pass neurological examination. Because their work is very stressful”.

Doctor of the clinic Regsane Jalilova said that hepatitis C virus has been found in 3 journalists during checkups: “Unfortunately, these persons are carriers of the virus. Such actions must be constant”.

Remind that the action lasted 40 days. The checkups were realized on the basis of the lists presented by redaction on Tuesdays and Saturdays from December 20 until January 31, 2010.
