In Azerbaijan, the volume of cargo transported by sea in January-September 2025 amounted to 6,962.9 thousand tons, which is a 9.5% increase compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, APA-Economics reports, citing the monthly report of the State Statistical Committee.
According to the report, 48.1 percent of the transported cargo consisted of oil cargoes.
“Loading and unloading operations totaling 9,861.1 thousand tons were carried out by seaports, and transit cargo accounted for 7,852.3 thousand tons or 79.6% of the cargo,” the report stated.
It is noted that as of October 1, 2025, the volume of cargo remaining in the ports was 410.2 thousand tons.
“The number of passengers transported by this mode of transport during the period decreased by 9.8% compared to the corresponding period of 2024, amounting to 19.3 thousand people,” the report emphasizes.
