The trilateral meeting held in Baku discussed the transit, customs, and energy sectors, Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh told APA's correspondent dispatched to Iran.

Farzaneh Sadegh said that the most important result of this meeting was the setting of a target by Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia for increasing the volume of transit transportation: A working group has been established to increase the volume of transportation on the "North-South" international transport corridor to 15 million tons. The connection of the North-South corridor of the Rasht-Astara railway is on the agenda.

Considering the simplification of customs procedures as necessary, the Iranian minister noted that extensive discussions were held in Baku in a trilateral and bilateral format in this regard. Farzaneh Sadegh noted that cargo carriers from all three countries face various problems: "A special working group on automobile transportation consisting of representatives of customs, border, and transport agencies of Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia has been established."
