Twin city cooperation between Baku and Tabriz is being discussed, Yaghoub Houshyar, the mayor of Tabriz, told journalists within the framework of the "III Azerbaijan National Urban Forum," APA-Economics reports.
He noted that Baku has been declared a twin city with many cities around the world, and this cooperation format is also possible with Tabriz.
“Such cooperation between Baku and Tabriz has been discussed before. We hope that concrete steps will be taken in this area in the near future. According to the agreement of our heads of state, cultural weeks will be organized in three cities. One of them will be held in Tabriz, and another in Baku.”
He stated that the organization of cultural weeks will contribute to the expansion of social and cultural ties in both cities: “The event is planned to take place next year.”
