Baku-APA-Economics. Although the falling economic graph of 2009 has left ugly scars on most of the automobile industry, the Korean automaker, Kia reported an increase in their sales inspite of adverse situations and is high on hopes to maintain the rising trend with the launch of new models in the market, Nitrobahn.com reported.

Working on the same lines, the auto manufacturer has just released the first official pictures of its handsome new compact crossover, the next generation 2011 Kia Sportage.

The 2011 Kia Sportage CUV is all set to be unveiled to the public for the first time at the upcoming 2010 Geneva Motor Show in the beginning of March. Carrying the Audi designer, Peter Schreyer-penned Kia design language, the new car borrows its styling cues from its larger siblings, the Kia Soul, Kia Cadenza sedan and the Kia Sorento SUV. But with much attention given to the details, it is now longer, lower and wider than the outgoing Sportage.

The five-door crossover shares its platform with the upcoming Hyundai ix35. While the internal details remain hidden under the hood, the Sportage is likely to carry the ix35â€™s 2.0-liter and 2.4-liter four cylinder engines coupled to six-speed transmissions in the North America while the European market may have 1.7-liter and 2.0 liter diesels, and 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter gasoline units as options to choose from. The all-new Sportage crossover will be available at Kia dealerships later this year.
