“We cannot consider innovation in agriculture separately from the protection of natural resources in rural areas. More efficient use of water, preservation of soil health, diversification of production and more accurate climate-related information must be coordinated,” FAO Representative in Azerbaijan Nasar Hayat said during his speech at an event dedicated to World Food Day, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, none of these goals can be achieved through the efforts of a single institution alone:
“For this, government institutions, universities, the private sector, development partners and farmers must work together.
FAO remains committed to continuing cooperation with the Government of Azerbaijan and all our partners to turn these priorities into practical measures.”
