During the media tour held in the territory of Mollalar village, journalists were told that operations are being carried out in villages and settlements, around drinking water reservoirs, as well as along water canals.
According to Suleyman Huseynov, commander of the Mine Action special-purpose military unit of the Special Risk Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, demining work in Aghdam continues intensively. The personnel involved in the operations are provided with modern machinery and equipment, including remotely controlled GCS-200 demining robots.
It was stated that demining work is carried out manually, with the use of specially trained dogs and mechanical means. Depending on the terrain, the GCS-200 device is capable of clearing an area of 750–1,500 square meters per hour.
Within the framework of the media tour, information was also provided about the role of mine-detection dogs in operations and the organization of medical safety during demining. It was noted that the health and psychological condition of employees involved in the operations are checked, and appropriate facilities are created in the area to provide necessary medical assistance.
It was noted that the Ministry of Emergency Situations recommends that citizens strictly comply with mine safety rules, not enter uncleared areas, and move only along designated routes. If a mine or suspicious object is discovered, citizens are asked not to touch it and to immediately inform the “112” hotline.
