Clarification has been provided regarding some claims circulated in Türkiye about Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s visit to Azerbaijan, APA reports.
According to information obtained by APA, these claims have no basis and the matter is quite simple.
According to the information, the Israeli President, his aide and a small delegation traveled to Azerbaijan on a commercial flight operating on the Baku–Tel Aviv–Baku route. Like other passengers, they purchased tickets and traveled by plane.
In other words, no special aircraft or unusual flight was arranged for the Israeli President’s visit to Azerbaijan. He arrived in Azerbaijan as a passenger on a commercial flight.
In Türkiye, however, those who look for a pretext concerning Azerbaijan every time and “scrutinize” it have turned this issue into a subject of manipulation as well.
However, if the same approach were applied to people traveling on commercial flights, it would also become necessary to investigate passengers using flights operated by Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, AJet and other airlines.
The Israeli President’s travel to Azerbaijan after purchasing a ticket on a commercial flight was an ordinary passenger journey. There is no logical basis for making unfounded calls regarding which flight he used and under what procedure he arrived in Baku.
It should be noted that, taking into account the existing relations between Türkiye and Israel in various fields, turning the Israeli President’s travel to Azerbaijan on a commercial flight into a special subject of discussion is not the correct approach.
It should also be noted that Israeli President Isaac Herzog arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
