In January-September of this year, 18,856.8 thousand tons of oil were transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil export pipeline, the State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics.
During the reporting period, 76.6% of oil transportation through Azerbaijan’s main oil pipelines accounted for the BTC pipeline.
“Of the oil transported through the BTC pipeline, 82% (15,456.1 thousand tons) was oil produced in Azerbaijan, while 18% (3,400.7 thousand tons) was oil received from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan,” the information said.
It should be noted that last year, 36,306.2 thousand tons of oil were transported through oil pipelines in Azerbaijan, which was 6.3% less year-on-year. Of the total transportation, 74.9% was carried out via BTC, and 27,179.2 thousand tons of oil were transported through this pipeline during the reporting period, which was 7.8% less year-on-year.
During the reporting period, 84.8% or 23,056.9 thousand tons of the oil transported through the BTC pipeline was oil produced in Azerbaijan, down 4.6%, while 15.2% or 4,122.3 thousand tons was oil received from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, down 22.2%.
