Cargo transit through Azerbaijan up by 1.2%

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-ECONOMICS. Cargo traffic reached 38 015 500 metric tons in Azerbaijan during January-November, down 58% from the same period last year, said Azerbaijan State Customs Committee.

Of this, 31 264 200 tons of cargo (268 600 tons by sea, 2 891 000 tons by rail, 411 000 tons by road, 1 646 600 tons by air and 26 041 300 tons by pipeline) was exported and 6 751 300 tons (336 100 tons by sea, 5 012 300 tons by rail, 1 352 700 tons by road and 20 600 tons by air) was imported.

Besides, transit cargo of 6 033 000 tons were mostly transported via Azerbaijan to Switzerland (1 967 000 tons), Italy (1 331 000 tons), the Bermudas (1 176 400), Georgia (493 000), Tajikistan (294 200), Turkmenistan (290 800), Iran (138 700), Russia (116 600) and Turkey (90 000). Transit cargo traffic increased by 1.22% or 72 900 tons from a year ago.
