Baku - APA. A train en route from Tyumen to Baku is expected to arrive later due to an explosion hit a railway in Russia’s Caucasian region of Dagestan early Monday, said Nadir Azmammadov, spokesperson of Azerbaijan Railways Company.
"The incident occurred not far from the Inchkhe station at 06.52 Baku time. The railroad was restored at 10.30 am and the train is on the way to Baku,” he added.
According to him, the train will be late for about two hours. According to the standard schedule, the train arrives in Baku at 06.37 pm.
“The railway was hit by an explosion before a train travelling from Tyumen to (Azerbaijan’s capital) Baku passed. The train did not derail, although the locomotive pulled the carriages about 150 meters along the damaged rails," a local police official was quoted by Interfax as saying earlier.
There were no casualties.
