Press service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told APA that the fire spread to the territories of Gizilaghaj State Nature Reserve of the Ministry due to strong wind and covered 55-hectare area. Reed and dry grass cover were burnt down as a result of the fire.
The fire was completely extinguished at about 21:50 through the efforts of the employees of the local bodies of the Ministry. Investigation is underway for finding culprits and taking appropriate measures on them within the law.
The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources calls on people, especially land owners to be careful with fire and comply with fire safety regulations.
