A large quantity of narcotic drugs was prevented from being smuggled into Azerbaijan, the Press Center of the State Border Service told APA.
On October 10, measures to ensure the reliable protection of the state border and to combat the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their precursors continue successfully.
As a result of border search and operational measures carried out in the service area of the "Horadiz" border detachment of the Border Troops Command of the State Border Service, the smuggling of a large quantity of narcotic drugs from the Islamic Republic of Iran into the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan via an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was prevented.
During the search operations, a total of 12 kilograms 660 grams of marijuana narcotic drugs were discovered and seized from the border area.
Operational-investigative measures regarding the case are ongoing.
