During the period from January to September of this year, a total of 936 kg 421.475 g of various types of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as 271.772 g of cannabis plants, were seized from 79 foreign nationals held responsible for drug-related offenses, the Working Group of the State Commission on Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Drugs said in a statement, APA reports.
It was noted that law enforcement agencies have uncovered 193 cases related to the smuggling of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances into the country. In these cases, a total of 2 tons, 768 kg, 922.273 g, and 7,527 methadone tablets of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, 13,194 tablets, and 5.7 g of a strong-acting substance were seized from illegal circulation.
