Identity of militant killed yesterday in Ganja by Ministry of National Security known

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. The identity of gunman killed yesterday by Ministry of National Security was established. APA reports that disarmed militant is resident of Zagatala’s Ashagi Tala village Vugar Ismikhan Padarov, born in 1975. Padarov’s brother Mehdi Padarov was arrested in Zagatala during operation held by MNS.

The Ministry of National Security carried out operations and detained 17 members of the armed group that planned to commit provocative acts and terrorist attacks with the view of violating socio-political stability and raise panic in the Azerbaijan Republic. According to the statement, 4 AKM assault rifles, 1 RPK machine gun, 2 Makarov pistols, 1 Nagan pistol, 1 Stechkin pistol, 2 Karabin rifle, cartridge clip with 6 bullets, 300 various cartridges, 31 hand grenades, 15 remote controlled explosives, 3 detonators, 3 cartridge clips for assault rifle, 30 Kenwood communication devices, 3 knife bayonets, books promoting terrorism and jihad, a great deal of banned military supplies were found as a result of the special operations carried out in Baku, Gandja, Sumgayit cities, Gakh, Zagatala, Shaki and Gusar regions.

The members of the “Gartal” special force of the Ministry of National Security met armed resistance during the operation carried out in Gandja. The persons, who refused to obey the legal demand, fired at the special forces, threw hand grenades. One officer of the Ministry of National Security was killed, 3 were wounded. One of the persons, who showed armed resistance to the government representatives, was killed, one wounded, two members of the group were detained.

Main Investigation Department of the Ministry of National Security has launched criminal case on the fact. Investigation is underway. Additional information will be given.
