Three new state services established under State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents

Baku â€“ APA. Azerbaijanâ€™s President has issued a decree on measures to improve the activity of the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents, APA reports. Under the decree, several services have been established under the above-mentioned state committee. The newly-established state services are the following:

1) State Control Service for Technical Regulation and Standardization under the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan Republic, on the basis of the District State Control Departments of the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents;

2) State Metrology Service under the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan Republic, on the basis of the National Metrology Center under the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents;

3) State Accreditation Service under the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan Republic

The structure of the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents and the Statute of the newly-established state services have been confirmed under the decree. Under the decree, the number of the staffers of the administration of the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents will be 112, the number of staffers of the State Control Service for Technical Regulation and Standardization under the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents will be 60, the number of the staffers of the district departments 98, the number of the staffers of the State Metrology Service under the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents will be 40, the number of the staffers of the State Metrology Service under the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents will be 22.

The Cabinet of Ministers is to ensure within a month the financing of the administration and services of the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents, prepare within three months the draft law on accreditation taking into account the international norms and principles, advanced foreign practice and submit it to President. The Cabinet of Ministers is also to prepare proposals to bring to conformity with the Decree the laws of Azerbaijan Republic and the acts of President of Azerbaijan Republic within three months.

The Cabinet of Ministers is also to ensure conformance of the normative legal acts to the Decree, inform President about it, control the conformance to this Decree of the normative legal acts of the central executive offices, inform President of Azerbaijan within five months.

The Ministry of Justice is to ensure conformance to this Decree of the normative legal acts of the central executive offices and normative acts, inform the Cabinet of Ministers about it.
