1.2-tonne cocaine worth $450 million found in Southhampton

Baku – APA. The largest shipment of cocaine ever seized in Britain – with a street value of $450 million – has been found on a luxury motor cruiser. The 1.2 ton haul was so well hidden it took customs officers six days to find it, APA reports quoting the foreign news agencies. The 65ft Dutch-registered Louise was seized when it arrived at Southampton docks on the cargo ship Snoekgracht on May 24 following a tip-off from French customs investigators. The 90% pure drugs are believed to have been packed into the boat in Venezuela earlier this year. They were destined for Holland, from where they would have been distributed across Europe.
