Group sentenced for armed incident outside Lankaran mosque and deliberate murder

According to APA, Nazar Sadigov was sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment, Elvin Mirzayev â€“ 13 years, Hasan Adamzadeh â€“ 11 years and six months, Arif Feyzullayev â€“ 4 years and six months, Miri Miriyev â€“ 4 years, Orkhan Dayyazov â€“ 2 years, Emil Bayramov â€“ one year and ix months, Ramin Humbatov â€“ one year. Two were conditionally sentenced to three years.

The incident happened in Gumbashi village of Lankaran region at 00.15 on September 3, 2010. Gunmen in several cars fired on the people that gathered near Gumbashi village mosque. As a result of the shooting, Elshan Alimammad Huseynov, 41, was killed. Ramin Baloglan Agamaliyev, 25, was wounded. He was taken to the resuscitation department of the Lankaran Central Hospital.

The accused persons admitted guilt and said the incident occurred accidentally. They said that they arrived at site to solve disputes between them and a group of people from Gumbashi, but interference of aggrieved persons in their disputes led to the armed incident. The accused persons disputed with the residents of Gumbashi that they drove their cars at a great pace in the territory where they lived.
