Person accused of killing businessman in Azerbaijan brought from Georgia to Baku

Sahil Shamilov is accused of killing head of Azer-Ross construction company Aflatun Piriyev. He was brought to Azerbaijan on July 21. The other accused person Fariman Hajiyev was also detained in Georgia. Measures are being taken to bring him to Baku.
Baku Main Police Office issued a statement about the detention of Sahil Shamilov. Press service of the police office told APA that Sahil Shamilov wanted under articles 120.2 (premeditated murder) and 22.8.2 (illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation or carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies (except for the smooth-bore hunting weapon and ammunition to it), explosives) was detained as a result of the operations carried out by Interior Ministry’s Main Crime Search Department, Crime Search Department of Baku Main Police Office and Narimanov district police office.
Aflatun Piriyev, founder of Azer-Ross construction company in Teymur Aliyev street, Narimanov district, was killed, chief accountant Amiraslan Ahmadov was seriously wounded at 13.00 on July 11, 2011.
Criminal case was launched on the fact, Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General’s Office set up an operation group. The investigation found out that in order to seize the share of Aflatun Piriyev, one of the co-founders Humbat Mammadov invited citizen of Russian Federation Tofig Bakirov to Baku. They met late in May and agreed on the price of the murder for $36 000. Tofig Bakirov ordered the murder to his fellow countryman Fariman Hajiyev, the latter involved his acquaintances Sahil and Shamil Shamilov brothers. He followed Aflatun Piriyev, kept his office and house under the control, burst into his office on July 11, killed him and wounded Amiraslan Ahmadov.
As a result of the special operations carried out by Azerbaijani Interior Ministry and relevant government agency of Georgia in line with the international agreements, Fariman Hajiyev and Sahil Shamilov were detained in Georgia. The other three Humbat Mammadov, Tofig Bakirov and Shamil Shamilov were detained in Baku.
Measures are being taken to carry out thorough and objective investigation.
