About 9 tonnes of fish and 60 kg black caviar confiscated in Azerbaijan in first half of 2011
Compared to the reporting period of last year, the number of the crimes investigated by the Interior Ministry and Prosecutor’s Office increased by 16 facts or 6.1 percent, 99.6 percent of them were solved, up 0.4 percent compared to the reporting period of last year. The number of the grave crimes reduced by 11.8 percent compared to the reporting period of last year, 93.3 percent of them was solved. They were drug-related crimes, no grave crimes were committed against person, against property, against public order.
90 drug-related crimes were recorded in the reporting period. 9.850 kg drugs were seized from the persons prosecuted criminally over illegal use of drugs.
The investigation of 242 criminal cases was conducted during reporting period, in investigation of 162 of them was finished, 152 were sent to the court. 1 pistol, 1 “TOZ-8â€, 1 sporting gun, 326 bullets of various calibers and etc. were seized.
Some activities were carried out in the country to prevent poaching in the water basins, illegal hunting, sale of fish and other violations of law. 81 ecological crimes, 56 administrative offences were revealed, 8 tonnes 967 kg fish, 60 kg black caviar, 59 boats, 9 engines and 182 nets were confiscated.
