The level in Kura and Araz rivers continues raising

The level of Kura has raised 5 centimeters in Yevlakh settlement, 2 in Zardab, 10 in Surra, 4 in Shirvan, 3 in Banke, 13 in Novruzlu settlement of Araz River. Currently, the level of water is 768 cm, 891 cu m/sec in Zardab settlement of Kura River, 940 cm, 1900 cu m/sec in Surra, 849 cm, 1845 cu m/sec in Salyan, 852 cm in Shirvan, 505 cm in Banke and 719 cm, 760 cu m/sec in Novruzlu settlement of Araz river.

High water is still continued in most rivers of the republic. That is, the highest water is in the rivers of Guba-Khazmaz region of the Greater Caucasus and it is ten-day norm is 120-360 percent; 90-284 percent in the rivers of Balakan-Shaki region, 148-245 percent in the rivers of Little Caucasus. The level of water is below norm in the rivers of Lankaran-Astara region (120-145).

On May 19 the level of water increased 15 cm in Giragkasaman settlement of Kura River and was 840 cu m/sec (117 percent of the ten-day norm).

The level increased 8 cm in Eyrichay settlement of Ganikh River and was 244 cu m/sec (120 percent of ten-day norm).

It fell 11 cm in Givrag settlement of Araz River and was 736 cu m/sec (191 percent of ten-day norm).

Lower streamway of Kura River is expected to rise due to forecasted showers in Kura, Araz and Ganikh basins, at the same time, as a result of high water in the branches of the mentioned rivers.
