Extra forces engaged in Azerbaijan’s Saatli and Sabirabad regions for levee consolidation - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

Numerous manpower reportedly from Saatli region as well as the equipment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Defense have been engaged in levee consolidation around Sarisu lake. Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Orujali Hajiyev directs all works related to the strengthening the dam.

Approximately one hour ago additional equipments were sent to the disaster area. Dozens of trucks are pulling into the territory the concrete, stones and earth.

Part of village inhabitants living close to Sarisu lake have already left their homes. Some of the residents still stay in their houses. Some areas around the lake have been flooded.

In the interview to APA correspondent, the Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Orujali Hajiyev told that the Emergency Forces are ready to evacuate the population, if it’s necessary.

According to him, the works for levee consolidation are maintained at an accelerated pace.

There is currently hampered traffic leading the disaster zone to the downtown of Saatly.

Two dams of Kur river started leaking in the direction of Sabirabad’s Azadkend village. Manpower and equipments of the ministry have been involved in the occurrence site.

APA correspondent reports from the scene, strengthening works have already been completed in one of the dams. Works on strengthening another dam are in progress.

Chagyrgan, Khankechen and Poladtogayi villages, which are close to the river, are in jeopardy. In these villages the population largely stays in the houses.
