The ad hoc working group tasked to develop a convention on the Caspian Sea’s legal status will hold a meeting in Tehran in October, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov said on Thursday, APA reported.
No date has yet been set for the meeting, Khalafov said.
“The issue of organizing a ministerial meeting can be raised by the end of the year,” the deputy FM said, noting that the holding of a summit of the heads of state of Caspian countries depends on the court of the process.
“If a meeting of the working group and then a ministerial meeting take place and we see dramatic changes and coordination on open issues, the heads of state may decide to hold a summit,” he added.
