Iranian lawmaker Ebrahim Rezaei warned on Saturday of sweeping retaliation across the region if the United States attacks Iran’s energy infrastructure, Iran International reports.
“If Iran is struck, we will send the entire region and its facilities back to the Stone Age,” Rezaei, a member of parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, wrote on X. “It is in your interest not to do anything foolish.”
Rezaei said Washington believed it could deliver a swift blow over the weekend and force Iran to surrender, calling that an “illusion” he said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had planted in US President Donald Trump’s mind.
