Chamber Music Evening Held at 15th Gabala International Music Festival-PHOTO

A chamber music evening was held at the Heydar Aliyev Congress Center as part of the 15th Gabala International Music Festival.

The concert featured Austrian young pianist and composer Alexander Maria Wagner, who performed masterpieces by world-renowned classical composers alongside his own original works.

According to the festival program, the chamber music evening held on August 1 was one of the notable events promoting international musical cooperation and the traditions of classical music.

The concert opened with Claude Debussy's L'Isle joyeuse ("The Island of Joy"). The program continued with Franz Schubert's Fantasy in F minor for piano four hands (Op. 103), Alexander Maria Wagner's five miniatures titled Mohn, Alexander Scriabin's Fantasy in B minor (Op. 28), and selected pieces from Azerbaijani composer Tofig Guliyev's piano cycle Jamila's Album.

Alexander Maria Wagner is among Austria's prominent young pianists and composers. He studied at the Mozarteum University Salzburg and the Royal College of Music in London. Throughout his career, he has performed in Austria, Germany, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Romania, Sweden, the United States and Azerbaijan, earning international recognition both as a pianist and a composer.

The event was attended by Gabala residents, visitors to the city, representatives of the music community and festival participants. The audience warmly applauded the performances throughout the evening.

Organized at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Uzeyir Hajibeyli Baku Academy of Music, and Gilan, the 15th Gabala International Music Festival will continue until August 3. The festival features classical music, chamber music, mugham and other concert programs performed by renowned musicians, orchestras and ensembles from various countries.
