A tanker carrying Qatari liquefied natural gas was struck by a projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, Bloomberg reported on Saturday, citing security intelligence firms and ship-tracking data.
Security firms identified the vessel as the GasLog Shanghai. UK Maritime Trade Operations earlier said a tanker had been struck off the Omani coast, damaging its engine room and leaving it unable to maneuver. No casualties or environmental impact were reported.
