The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has called on FIFA President Gianni Infantino to step down voluntarily, The Telegraph reports.
According to the British newspaper, UEFA has warned that if Infantino refuses to resign, it will initiate a vote of no confidence against him.
The report says all 55 UEFA member associations are prepared to support efforts to remove Infantino from office.
The move comes amid growing controversy over FIFA's reported plans to sell part of the commercial rights to the FIFA World Cup. The proposal drew criticism from UEFA and several national football associations.
Media reports later indicated that Infantino had abandoned the plan following the backlash.
Gianni Infantino has served as FIFA president since 2016. Earlier, he announced his intention to seek re-election at the FIFA presidential election scheduled for March next year.
