Forbes: Azerbaijan strengthens air defenses amid risks posed by Iran war

Military tension around Iran and the threats posed by the recent war have led Azerbaijan to further strengthen its air defense capabilities, it is noted in an article published in Forbes magazine, APA reports.

The article notes that Azerbaijan has significantly strengthened its airspace defense in recent years. In this regard, the country has adopted 40 Pakistani-made JF-17C Block III multi-role fighters.

It is emphasized that these aircraft, equipped with modern radars and long-range air-to-air missiles, will increase the combat capabilities of the country's air forces.

Forbes writes that Azerbaijan is also forming a multi-layered defense network through various air defense systems, radars and other means manufactured by Israel, Türkiye, and China.

The article states that the Iran-Israel war once again demonstrated the threat posed by unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise and ballistic missiles, and Baku, taking this experience into account, decided to strengthen its airspace defense.
