Ismail Serageldin makes presentation on development of youth leadership at Baku forum

Ismail Serageldin, co-chairman of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center and founding director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, made a presentation on the development of youth leadership at the Global Young Leadership Forum that kicked off in Baku Aug. 21, APA reported.

The four-day forum was organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center with the support of Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Work with Diaspora.

Serageldin said at the moment such an opinion that the poor will become even poorer and the rich will be richer prevails in the world, and there is a tendency to despair.

At the same time, he expressed confidence that equality can be achieved thanks to inclusiveness and peace.

“Knowledge is formed on the basis of information. We should acquire wisdom through this knowledge. Culture and art should be first prioritized. We should attach importance to science-based youth leadership. Persons such as Newton, Einstein made great inventions at very young ages. Today young people can achieve a lot due to internet and mobile phones. Young people should surprise the world”, he added.
