David Edick: â€œPeople to people relationship is quite important between the US and Azerbaijanâ€

I think it will be very helpful to have university connections to facilitate opportunities for students of Azerbaijan to attend universities in California and for students of California to attend universities in Azerbaijan. Trade and construction is also important, said head of the San Diego World Affairs Council of California David Edick Jr, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, APA reports.

Speaking about California's position on Nagorno Karabakh conflict Edick said: “This is very complicated issue and decisions are made in Washington DC. I am not aware of any resolutions on Nagorno Karabakh in California, again, this is something that has to be decided in Washington and the opinions of all the people will be heard. We have second largest concentration of Iraqis and second largest concentrations of Kurdish people in USA, so I understand the issues that important to diasporas and I have to say that it makes complicated for us.”

Touching on the “Vision into the future: Azerbaijani-American Forum” to be held in Baku on May 29, David Edick said that his expectations are to have experience in Baku, for him it is a combination of an adventure and experience of real people, real place.
