Once commissioned, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project will open up great opportunities, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told a press conference following the 4th trilateral meeting with his Turkish and Turkmen counterparts in Baku on Wednesday, APA reported.
"The Technical Committee on Caspian Transit has held meetings. The transport ministers, heads of railway structures and seaports of the three countries carried out the necessary work. I am confident that cooperation in this area will develop from year to year. Once commissioned, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars will open up great opportunities,” Mammadyarov said.
He noted that a few days before the forthcoming summit in Turkmenistan, the foreign ministers of the three countries will discuss the results of the roadmap for 2015-2017, as well as the roadmaps for all areas of cooperation for 2018-2020.
