Azerbaijani delegation not to attend PACE Bureau and Standing Committee meeting in Yerevan

He did not reveal why the Azerbaijani delegation has refused to participate in the PACE meeting in Yerevan.

The discussions will focus on Armenia’s priorities during its Chairmanship and political dialogue between PACE and CoE Committee of Ministers.

The themes on the agenda include promoting alternatives to imprisonment and budgets and priorities of the Council of Europe for the biennium 2014-2015. Furthermore, a current affairs debate on “The Nagorno-Karabach conflict, 25 years later: the Council of Europe’s possibilities to promote reconciliation between Armenia and Azerbaijan” has been requested by the PACE United European Left (UEL) Group. The date of these discussions will be fixed after the agenda of the meeting is confirmed.

Armenia assumed chairmanship of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers on May 16.
