UK Minister for Europe and the Americas Alan Duncan said he told Azerbaijan’s president that Prime Minister Theresa May intends to meet with him soon.
“At today’s meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, we discussed bilateral ties between the UK and Azerbaijan,” Duncan told reporters in Baku, APA reported.
During the meeting, Duncan thanked Azerbaijan’s head of state for the development of bilateral ties.
“We talked about political and trade relations between the two countries. During the meting, I delivered Mrs Theresa May’s letter of gratitude to the president and I informed him of the Mistress’s intention to meet him in the near future,” he said.
The minister noted that it is his first visit to Baku.
“I told Mr Ilham Aliyev that it is my first time visiting Baku even though I’ve been working in the field of oil for two decades. The city is beautiful,” he added.
