2nd World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue continues with plenary sessions - <span style="color: red;">PHOTOSESSION

He said that in recent years, Azerbaijan hosted a number of significant international events and demonstrated its goodwill on the international level.

Conveying the greetings of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to the participants, UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser noted that this forum plays an important role in bringing together representatives of the various cultures and religions. He stressed that Azerbaijan, which is situated at the crossroads of the East and West, is an example to the world.

Noting that Azerbaijan has taken important steps for protection of historical and cultural heritage, UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova spoke about UNESCO’s cooperation with Baku. She underlined the importance of the Forum, expressed her hope that the views expressed there will find their place in practice.

Following the official opening ceremony, the Forum was continued with plenary sessions. The 1st Alumni Summit of the "Emerging Leaders" of UN Alliance of Civilizations, World Forum 1st Ministerial Meeting, “Writing Peace” exhibition of UNESCO will be held within the forum in Baku.
