According to him the Russian embassy in Baku has asked Foreign Ministry to clarify the incident involving the detention of the journalist of "Nezavisimaya Gazeta" Milrada Fatullayev at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport: "This is not a note of protest."
On the night of March 31 and April 1, Fatullayev was detained at Heydar Aliyev International Airport and deported.
