The Head of State said he appreciated highly informative and relevant reports dedicated to Azerbaijan’s economic development, foreign relations and other areas.
Noting that the magazine has declared Ilham Aliyev ‘Person of the Year’, editor-in-chief of the magazine Jason John presented the award to the President Ilham Aliyev emphasizing the invaluable contribution of the Azerbaijani leader to the dynamic development of Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked the staff members of "The Business Year" magazine for the award and for covering Azerbaijan’s achievements in energy, trade, business, investment, cultural and other fields.
The Head of State said the country's successful development is based on its rapid economic progress. President Ilham Aliyev noted that the dependence on oil and gas factor decreased in Azerbaijan as a result of the diversification of the economy and use of oil revenues in a transparent manner for the benefit of the people.
Dwelling on the rapid development of ICT sector, the President emphasized the development of space industry in the country. President Aliyev also stressed the strengthening of the country's growing influence in the international arena.
The influential British magazine “The Business Year” has recently declared President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev 'Person of the Year'. The Azerbaijani President was declared the 'Person of the Year' for his merits in the dynamic development of Azerbaijan over the past five years, active participation in geopolitical world processes, ensuring peace and security as a member of the UN Security Council, launching the first telecommunication satellite Azerspace and formation of Azerbaijan as the center of international public, political, economic and humanitarian forums, conferences and sport events.
