To him, handover process of Gabala RS consists of two phases: ‘Firstly, we were to realize inventory check, we’ve completed this phase. The second phase comprises full handover process, withdrawal of the property belonging to Russia, solution of the issues connected with departure of the staff and their family members. The Azerbaijani side has carried out all the appropriate activities and officialized all the documents related to the handover process. The station has already suspended its operation; the property to be sent to Russia has already been placed in the storage facilities and the Russian side is taking steps for withdrawal of this property’.
Khalafov said that the contacts and negotiations with the Russian side on the handover process of Gabala RS are conducted in the atmosphere of full mutual understanding: ‘The negotiations were held in accordance with the spirit of the Azerbaijani-Russian relations, there is no disagreement, all issues have been resolved promptly. We are currently realizing the withdrawal by the planes sent by Russia and taking all the necessary measures’.
