Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. The delegation of the Rapporteur Group on Democracy (GR-DEM) of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe has today met with chairman of Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov. CEC told APA that the delegation led by Urszula Gacek was interested in the requirements in the election legislation on presidential elections, list of electors, principles of the commissions' activity and preparations for the upcoming presidential elections.
Noting the importance of the relations with international organizations and the significant contribution of this cooperation to improving election practice, the CEC chairman informed about the election system of Azerbaijan, the work done towards the presidential elections and further projects. The other questions of the guests were also answered and the sides exchanged views on the issues of mutual interest
