Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. The delegation led by Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada, Chairman of Azerbaijan-Canada Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Barry Devolin, who is on a visit to Baku, has met with the political party leaders represented in the Azerbaijani parliament.
The parliament told APA that informing about the 11 political parties represented in the parliament, deputy executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) introduced the political party leaders to the guests.
Devolin highly estimated the importance of his visit to Baku and gave detailed information to the MPs about the structure and activity of the Canadian parliament and election rules.
Chairman of the National Revival Movement party, MP Faraj Guliyev, chairman of Azerbaijan Democratic Reforms Party Asim Mollazadeh, chairman of Civil Solidarity Party and head of the working group for the Azerbaijan-Canada interparliamentary relations Sabir Rustamkhanli delivered speeches. The guests were thoroughly informed about the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Armenia’s aggression against our country, Khojaly genocide and our refugees’ problems. They called on Canada to fully use its opportunities at the UN for the restoration of one million refugees’ rights and their return to their native lands.
