Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with Prime Minister of the State of Palestine Mohammad Mustafa, who is visiting the country, the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis told APA.
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova noted that Azerbaijan maintains a principled position on the Palestinian issue and emphasized that this position is consistently upheld within the framework of international organizations.
During the meeting, it was stressed that the opening of Azerbaijan's Representative Office in Ramallah in 2023 was an important step in the development of bilateral relations.
Azerbaijan consistently keeps the Palestinian issue on the agenda within international organizations and other multilateral platforms and approaches the matter with particular sensitivity.
The meeting also expressed satisfaction with Palestinian students studying in Azerbaijan and highly appreciated the favorable opportunities provided to them under the "Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant" program.
Mohammad Mustafa thanked the Azerbaijani state, people, and parliament for their consistent political, diplomatic, and humanitarian support on the Palestinian issue. Noting the importance of his meetings with the President and Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, the guest stressed that the continued support of the country's leadership would never be forgotten by the Palestinian people.
