Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. “Russia-Azerbaijan relations are built basing on a solid foundation. The important factor of these relations is robust humanitarian relations and active economic cooperation. Azerbaijan and Russia remain committed to their interests and are setting an example for the neighboring countries how to find a compromise and demonstrate solidarity in the international issues,” said rector of Moscow State Institute of International Relations Anatoly Torkunov addressing Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy.
He delivered a lecture on “Post-crisis international relations: The View from Moscow.”
Torkunov said the global crisis is about to end.
“This crisis has played the role of a boundary in a number of tendencies and processes. The images of a number of countries have significantly changed. Once a superpower the US now has the image of an indebted state with high unemployment and social inequality. China’s economic model seemed successful and could overcome the first stage of the crisis. But later there was a need for changes, deep reforms in the country’s economic structure. For a number of countries, including Russia and Azerbaijan, energy revenues played the role of airbag,” he said.
Rector of Moscow State Institute of International Relations also shared his views on the situation in the Korean Peninsula.
Touching on Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the role of human factor in the settlement of the conflict, rector said human factor’s role is greater than we think.
