The letter says:
“I was deeply saddened to hear the news of numerous casualties as a result of the quake took place in Bushehr.
On behalf of myself and the people of Azerbaijan, I extend my deepest condolences to you, families and relatives of the dead, and all people of Iran. I hope for the speedy recovery of the injured, elimination of the consequences of the quake.”
6.3 magnitude quake hit the Bushehr province in southern Iran on April 9 at 16:22. The quake was occurred in the depth of 12 kilometers. Several cities - Kaki, Kengan and Khormooj - were seriously destroyed. 700 houses were destroyed, 39 people died, 960 people were injured. 8 of died people are children under 10 years of age. The quake was also felt in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. 90 aftershocks have been recorded in Bushehr province up to now.
