Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. The summit of heads of Turkic-speaking states will be held in the first quarter of 2009, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic told the press conference, APA reports. He said that the issue had been discussed during the official visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Turkey, at the meeting with Turkish President Abdullah Gul.

The Ambassador said heads of parliaments of Turkic-speaking states would meet in Istanbul on November 20-21 and underlined that the decision might be passed at the meeting to establish Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-speaking states. Asked some Turkic-speaking countries did not want the assembly to be established, the diplomat said the number of those who wanted was enough.
