Ambassador Fakhraddin Gurbanov attends the conference dedicated to the investment opportunities in the Caspian region

Aberdeen. Victoria Dementyevaâ€“APA. Azerbaijanâ€™s Ambassador to the United Kingdom Fakhraddin Gurbanov attended the conference in Aberdeen, Scotland dedicated to the investment opportunities in the Caspian region, Press Service of the Embassy told APA. The conference was organized by the British Trade and Investment Agency, British-Azerbaijan Society and Municipality of Aberdeen City and provided the Scottish companies with information about the new investment opportunities in the Caspian region, including Azerbaijan, created due to the rapid economic development in the region. Representative of the British Trade and Investment Agency Bob Greener, Mayor of Aberdeen City and Chairman of the British-Azerbaijan Society Lord Frazer and members of the Society, as well as representatives of the companies operated in oil and gas sector and other fields attended the conference.
Ambassador Gurbanov informed the participants about the economic projects carried out in Azerbaijan. He spoke about the large-scale programs and great infrastructure projects implemented by the government for the development of non-oil sector. The ambassador noted that Azerbaijan was named among the countries with the most progresses toward the improvement of business environment in the World Bank last report â€œDoing Business 2009â€.

Speaking about the economic relations between UK and Azerbaijan, Gurbanov said these relations were developed continuously and the country took leading position for the volume of foreign investments.
Representative of the British Trade and Investment Agency Bob Greener and Mayor of Aberdeen City and chairman of the British-Azerbaijan Society Lord Frazer also delivered speeches at the event. The useful business environment of Azerbaijan and considerable positive changes in the country in compare with other countries of the region were emphasized in the speeches.
