John Sullivan: â€œI have come to Baku to show US support for government and economy of Azerbaijanâ€

Victoria Dementyeva â€“APA. â€œI have come to Baku to show US support for government and economy of Azerbaijanâ€, US Assistant Secretary of the Department of Commerce John Sullivan told journalists, APA reports. He said US intended to assist Azerbaijanâ€™s government to continue reforms for the economic development. The guest considers that one of the main conditions of the economic development was reducing of corruption and bureaucracy and diversification of the economy. Sullivan said at present more than 100 US companies were operating in Azerbaijan and their number would be increased by the strengthening of bilateral economic cooperation. He emphasized that the United States took interest in the field of high technologies, as well as agrarian-industrial and infrastructural spheres. Sullivan met with the President of Azerbaijan, president of State Oil Company, Ministers of Finance, Economic Development and US businessmen operating in Azerbaijan.
