Baku. Lachin Sultanova–APA. “We consider that territorial integrity of all countries should be accepted as the main principle of international law”, said Alexei Ostrovsky, Chairman of Russian State Duma Committee for Relations with CIS in his exclusive interview with APA. Ostrovsky noted that this principle should be taken into consideration during peaceful solution to the frozen conflicts, non-use of force, political compromise and negotiations. “We consider that both parties of Nagorno Karabakh conflict – Armenia and Azerbaijan – have to find strength and courage to hold negotiations and to find solution acceptable for both sides”.
Emphasizing the Russia’s mediation in the negotiations the lawmaker said his country could be a guarantee for fulfilling the agreement to be reached between the sides. “However the mediating countries cannot solve the problem if the sides have no intentions for it”.
