Baku to host next meetings of GUAM working subgroups for struggling against terrorism and illicit drug turnover

Baku. Viktoria Dementyeva â€“ APA. The meetings of the working subgroups for struggling against terrorism and illicit drug turnover were held under Azerbaijanâ€™s chairmanship at the Secretariat of GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova) in Kiev, APA reports.

The 10th meeting of the working subgroup for struggling against illicit drug turnover was held on April 19-20. The delegations exchanged views on the development of the relevant national legal basis, measures taken to struggle against it. The sides agreed to hold joint events entitled â€œNarcostop-2012â€. The decision was passed to hold the next meeting of the subgroup in Baku in October.

The 8th meeting of the working subgroup for struggling against terrorism was held on April 17-18. The member states discussed the measures taken to warn about and struggle against terrorism. They also exchanged views on the security measures before Eurovision 2012 in Azerbaijan and European Football Champioship in Ukraine.

The sides also agreed on establishment of cooperation in the sphere of cyber-terrorism. The decision was passed to hold the next meeting of the subgroup in Baku in October.

Azerbaijan is chairing GUAM in 2012.
